About this water

Loch Cròcach lies just half a kilometre from the Highland coast, a lovely water of roughly 40 hectares with a highly irregular shoreline that extends one mile from north to south and up to three-quarters of a mile from east to west. The southern end forms a long, narrow arm pointing north towards a splendid bay guarded by a large island and four smaller satellites. The loch is generally shallow with low alkalinity, set in low ground near the sea.

The water is full of bright trout which average eight ounces, with a few larger specimens as well. Fish are caught all round the loch. It can be dour, particularly in mid-summer, but rarely sends an angler home without supper.

Access is straightforward from the end of the minor road. Park at the road end and follow the track west for a few minutes until the south end of the loch appears on the right.

Permission & Tickets

Visitor permits are available for anglers who wish to fish the club’s waters without full membership. These permits offer access to well-maintained fishing grounds in a quiet, scenic setting and help support the ongoing conservation and management of the fishery.

Both experienced anglers and newcomers are welcome. By purchasing a permit, visitors are able to enjoy a day’s fishing while contributing to the care and sustainability of the waters.
