Loch Droighinn is a very small, very shallow loch of barely half a hectare, lying in the low ground close to the coast of the Trotternish peninsula on Skye, little more than a kilometre from the sea. Its outline is simple and compact, the shoreline offering few features, and the loch sits as part of a scattered group of waters tucked between the A855 road and the dramatic escarpment of the Quiraing rising to the west.
The loch holds small but lively wild brown trout and is best fished in company with the neighbouring lochs nearby. The fishing is fly only, and the water is well suited to introducing younger or less experienced anglers to the sport. Catches can be rewarding for those willing to explore the group as a whole.
Access begins from the A855, with the route heading west and south across open ground for roughly two kilometres, dropping gently toward the loch through the low coastal terrain. The other lochs in the group lie within easy reach on foot from here.
