water managed by Durness and Kinlochbervie Angling Club
Loch Meadhonach lies close to the coast in low ground in the Highland region. It is a very small, generally shallow loch of roughly 2.5 hectares, with low alkalinity and a simple, rounded shoreline. Set at low elevation, the water sits snugly in its hollow and a short walk will take you round its margins.
Trout here are bright little fish, around three to the pound. Bank fishing only. Access is by a track approaching from the south-west, running north-east for roughly four kilometres before reaching the water.
Visitor permits are available for anglers who wish to fish the club’s waters without full membership. These permits offer access to well-maintained fishing grounds in a quiet, scenic setting and help support the ongoing conservation and management of the fishery.
Both experienced anglers and newcomers are welcome. By purchasing a permit, visitors are able to enjoy a day’s fishing while contributing to the care and sustainability of the waters.
