Loch an Losgainn Beag lies on low ground less than two kilometres from the coast. It is a very small, shallow water of roughly 1.6 hectares, with a simple, compact outline. Depth is modest throughout, averaging about five metres, and the water shows moderate alkalinity.

This loch is known for its big fish potential, though it can be unpredictable; it is best treated as part of a circuit with other lochs nearby rather than lingered over.

Access from Glenbeg is on foot: a short walk of about three-quarters of a kilometre, trending west-north-west and rising gently by around twenty metres, brings you to the east shore.
