water managed by Glenbeg Fishing
Loch a’ Phearsain lies close to the coast, set among low hills that give useful shelter when winds are strong. It is a small water of roughly 25 hectares, generally shallow with an average depth around 6 m and moderate alkalinity. The loch has a simple, sweeping shoreline; the northeastern corner is shallower where a stream enters, while the southern end carries the deeper water.
Trout average about 8oz, with some over 1lb. The inflow corner to the northeast is the place to try first; the deeper southern end offers a change of pace when levels are low or light is high.
Access is on foot from Glenbeg. The route runs north for just over one kilometre, rising gently by around 50 m and curving over low knolls before reaching the south side of the loch.
