Water managed by Assynt Angling Group
Fiddle loch lies roughly an hour and a quarter's walk northeast of Inchnadamph, set among the hills at moderate altitude. It is a very small water of just over 3 hectares, with a simple shoreline that shows only minor indentations. Despite its modest size, the loch is relatively deep for Highland waters, and the low alkalinity reflects the surrounding moorland terrain.
The water holds trout of respectable size, with persistent tales of much larger fish. The remote setting ensures solitude for the fly fisher willing to make the journey.
The route from Inchnadamph follows a steady climb southeast through rough country, crossing moorland and rising ground for approximately 6 kilometres. The path winds through increasingly wild terrain before reaching this secluded water, offering the adventurous angler a peaceful and potentially rewarding experience.
