Water managed by Stornoway Angling Association
Loch Airigh nan Gleann lies in the low ground of Na h-Eileanan an Iar, roughly two kilometres from the coast. It is a very small loch of just under 4 hectares, moderately irregular in outline with a few bays and points giving the shoreline some variety. The fetch is short — barely 300 metres — and the loch sits sheltered in its peat-dominated catchment. Alkalinity is low, as is typical of these Hebridean waters.
The loch is lightly fished. Early mornings and evenings offer the best chance of sport, and the shallows along the west side are worth working carefully. The two bays on the east side are also noted as productive lies.
The route from the road is short and almost flat — around 300 metres southeast across the moor, with only a few metres of rise before the loch comes into view.
