Low alkalinity

Very small
Larger lakes with good spawning often contain lots of smaller trout. Smaller lakes with limited spawning can produce larger trout.
Scora Water lies on low ground a little over a kilometre from the sea. It is a very small, shallow loch of roughly 6 hectares, with low alkalinity and a simple shoreline. The water is clear, and depth averages about 3 metres.
The loch holds bright, silvery trout averaging around 10 oz, and they can be difficult to tempt to the fly.
Access is straightforward: it is only a few minutes’ walk from the road over easy ground to the water’s edge.
