Water managed by Ruantallain Estate
This small lochan lies in the south east of Ruantallain in Argyll and Bute, less than a kilometre from the coast. It is one of three unnamed waters in the area, distinguished by a small island that breaks the surface. The loch covers just over a hectare with a simple, rounded shoreline and clear water of low alkalinity.
The lochan holds brown trout averaging around a pound, with larger fish present. Dry flies fished around the island can prove effective.
