Water managed by Ruantallain Estate
Loch Righ Mór is the largest in a stunning chain of lochs scattered across the Ruantallain Estate on the island of Jura. Lying in low ground just over a mile from the coast, this substantial water covers roughly 72 hectares with a moderately complex shoreline of bays and headlands. The loch is generally shallow, with moderate alkalinity suggesting reasonable productivity.
Righ Mór is noted as the biggest of the estate's string of lochs. There is a boat available, though bank fishing can prove the most effective method. Fish are best taken tight to the margins, standing well back from the water's edge.
