Water managed by Ruantallain Estate
Loch Righ Beag is a small freshwater loch of roughly 11 hectares, lying in the low ground, just over a kilometre from the coast. The water is shallow with low alkalinity, and the shoreline shows gentle variation with a few modest bays and headlands. At half a kilometre across at its widest point, the loch sits comfortably in the surrounding landscape.
The loch holds mainly small trout, though the odd surprise may be encountered. There are probably better fish lurking under the weed beds towards the southern end of the loch. A small boat is available at the boathouse, which will take you to the more productive areas.
The southwest corner features a rebuilt boathouse with decking, providing useful shelter when needed. This attractive little loch offers pleasant fishing in peaceful surroundings.
