Loch of Framgord lies just inland from the sea, lying below the lighthouse on low coastal ground. It is a very small, shallow loch of roughly three hectares; the outline is simple and the water is very clear, with low alkalinity. Depths are modest, averaging about three metres.

The loch holds good fish and is stocked regularly by the SAA. Access is straightforward: park at the lighthouse and walk down the access road to the loch.
