About this water

The Llynnau Cwm Silyn are situated in the hills to the south of Llyn Nantlle.

These remote lakes, nestled in the heart of Snowdonia, are home to wild brown trout and receive very little fishing pressure due to their distance from the road, requiring an easy walk of just over a mile on a well-defined track.

Anglers should prepare properly and always notify someone of their destination. The nearest village is Llanllyfni LL54 6sl.

Both lakes feature crystal clear waters and rocky landscapes interspersed with weed beds. The upper llyn, located beneath the crag, presents a challenge with its shallow fishable margins. The fish here tend to be small and scarce.

In contrast, the lower lake boasts a healthy population of wild trout averaging 10 to 11 inches. It is deeper and offers better access, though some banks can be rough.
