Llyn Blaenmelindwr is a 12 acre llyn is right on the edge of a narrow road, giving easy access to a good part of the bank. The rest of the llyn is fairly boggy and care needs to be taken when working round it. It can get weedy in summer especially on the far bank.
Wild fish are present here, as well as some stocked browns. Some of the wild fish can exceed 1lb and are good quality. It has fairly peaty water and can be a dour place at times. It is of interest to note that Blaenmelindwr was once said be home to a breeding population of American brook trout up until the 1990’s.
Day permits are available to buy online here at The Fishing Passport website.
Have you been to a wild water and want to share the knowledge? We'd be more than happy to recieve information from anyone who wants to write up a water guide.
Or if you just fancy coming out on our next trip, you are more than welcome.
