water managed by Tregaron Angling Association
This 40-acre lake is fly fishing only and holds a good head of genuinely wild brown trout averaging around a pound, but fish of several pounds are possible. It has also been lightly stocked with trout over the years to supplement the wild population.
The lake is limed up to four times a year, and deciduous trees slowly replace the surrounding coniferous woodland. The countryside here is simply stunning, and there are fewer more remote places in Wales.
Vehicle access to this remote mountain lake is excellent, being able to drive right up to the parking area at the water’s edge.
Day permits are available to buy online here at The Fishing Passport website.
